Windows Download Steps

Install Mixin Messenger on your Windows PC.

System Requirements

• Windows 10 or higher
• At least 200MB available storage

Download & Installation

1. Visit Mixin Messenger Download Page
2. Find the latest version's Windows installer (.exe or .msi file)
3. Click to download the installer to your computer
4. After download completes, find the installer in your "Downloads" folder
5. Double-click the installer to launch the setup program
6. If "Windows protected your PC" appears, click "More info" then select "Run anyway"
7. Follow the installation wizard prompts to complete installation
8. Select installation location (default location recommended)
9. Wait for installation to complete
10. After installation completes, launch Mixin Messenger
11. Start creating or importing an account

Handling Windows Security Prompts

When "Windows protected your PC" appears:

1. Click the "More info" link
2. Click the "Run anyway" button
3. Continue the installation process

This is because the app is not Microsoft-signed, but downloading from official sources is safe.

Common Issues

Cannot download installer?

• Check if network connection is working
• Try downloading with a different browser
• Try again after disabling firewall or antivirus

Permission denied during installation?

• Right-click the installer file
• Select "Run as administrator"
• Follow prompts to complete installation

Antivirus blocking installation?

• Downloads from official GitHub are safe
• Temporarily disable antivirus
• Add installer to antivirus whitelist
• Re-enable antivirus after installation

Cannot start after installation?

• Check if system version is Windows 10 or higher
• Restart computer and try again
• Uninstall and reinstall
• Check for system updates
